I am currently road testing a Vodafone cap plan with an iphone.
Now mind you I sold my previous iphone, but then myself with another one several days later(you know that whole thing about removing clutter so you can let new things in, seems to work with phones too)Anyway, the $79 cap is awesome, the included value is great, I’m just not too happy with the network performance on the handset.
The Nokia E63 works wonders, but the reception on this one seems quite patchy.

I completed my registration today for the Bay Run on the 1st of August 2010.
On Monday the 19th of April registration opens for Blackmores and I will be registering for the half marathon.
Today at work we had a team building day (we played golf) and I came home a bit stiff.
Mind you I have also eaten way too much at lunch (at least I felt that I had) and was feeling too heavy to run.
But instead of wallowing in self pity I headed out to complete a 30 minute run.
I am feeling so much better for it now.I have a few long run days ahead this weekend, so I did not want to go overboard today. This is after all supposed to be an easy week (i.e.: a 20 KM week not a 48 KM week)
I am also currently seeking sponsorship so if you can sponsor me from a Corporate perspective I’d love to hear from you.

It’s extremely difficult for me today. Rest days are hard. I find them hard because I actually don’t like to ‘rest’ as such.
I get a little testy and nervy when I can’t work out and today is one of those days.
But rest is good, even if I hate it. -

Saturday
This morning I intended to get out of bed early, have a snack then let it settle for an hour before my scheduled 10k run.
I did have a bit of a delayed start, but ended up getting it over and done with it.
This was the first time I’ve run a 10k practice run in ten years (long story, not for this post though).
My running goal this week is to clock 32k’s in total over the 4 running days allocated (need to include rest remember).
I now have 12k’s to go, and the deadline is the 2nd of April. I think I am well within reach of this one.Think I’ll keep the 32k per week aim for 3 weeks before the change as I don’t want to increase to rapidly and burn out. I really need to get over the whole 8k hurdle.
It feels like a physical plateau but I am not sure whether it is physical or mental.
Anyway, weight training tomorrow, active rest, love it.

The new blackberry bold 9700 is due for release in December 2009.
I have been using a test unit for 2 months now and had fallen in love with it day 1.
My first blackberry was a 7290, and since those very first days of use I was totally addicted.
I moved away from the blackberry ins 2008 when the iPhone launched, thinking I would give it a try, but soon reverted back to blackberry after I found the battery life unsuitable for work purposes.
So, the bold 9700, well it’s smaller than the 9000 model but still a comfortable fit for the hand.
The new optical track pad is much better for navigation and prevents dirt and dust clogging up the track ball.
The features are standard blackberry, although more apps will become available over the coming months. For a hard core blackberry user I find this device a nicer, smaller option of the 9700.

There are some days when I absolutely HATE the mobile portal and the account management portal, but I must admit, also being a customer of the competition, the Vodafone portal is worse.
I can’t change my rate plan and I can’t perform any account maintenance functions.
These are all staples of the online environment and yet I can’t perform a simple basic function.Remind me not to whinge again when I am comparing portals.

The Blackberry Curve is now available on Vodafone coming soon to the Optus network.(presumably next week)
Even though during the road test I was not overly impressed with it, I have actually grown to liking it, and now have one with my Vodafone sim in it.
Next up the new Bold 9700 (which I don’t want to give back) and the Storm 2.

I am currently road testing the blackberry curve, and although a fan of blackberry I am not overly impressed with this one.
It’s small, fits in the palm of your hand neatly.
The track ball is not so much a ball but a square, and although the unit is light weight and easy to use I am not keen to go out and buy one.Now the bold, with all it’s issues was the device I had to get, and I do have my eye on the new storm.
But this small 2G device is not exciting me.I am finding the keypad is a little to small and if I were a man I would probably have a bigger issue with it

The Nokia N97 promised a lot and delivered little.
I was looking forward to having a serious play with this device and testing out putting it through its paces.
Things started badly when I first started up the device.
I must have become too used to the Iphone because the touch screen did not live up to expectations.
In fact I hated it. It felt like I had to press harder to activate anything, the unit is chunky and the battery life definitely did not meet expectations at all.
In fact, when fully charged, I removed the charger turned the device on without a sim card in it and left it on my desk.
When I returned home from work 12 hours later it was dead.
